A Snapshot of Technology History – Cell Phones in Our Lives

Ten years ago a child in school could be suspended for carrying a cell phone to class, federal employees were required to print all deliverable documents, and to carry a photo ID badge.  Today, cell phones are the norm inschools, federal employees post most documents electronically and carry ID badges with integrated security certificates. However the use of personal Smartphones for government work is not yet fully accepted.  In the not so distant future, school children will most likely need to carry and use Smartphones to participate in class. Federal employees will most likely collaborate on shared electronic media – styled after social networks, and all digital identification and system access will reside on the Smartphones employees will be required to own and carry at work.
